Introduction
Welcome to Slab! This Privacy Policy explains how Lunar Apps LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our iOS application (“the App”).
Who We Are
Slab is owned and operated by Lunar Apps LLC, a Texas Limited Liability Company.
Contact information: contact@lunarapps.io
Information We Collect
Slab is designed to work without an account — there is no sign-up, email, or password.
- Camera: Slab uses your camera to scan trading cards. Card recognition happens entirely on your device — the camera frames and photos are processed locally and are never uploaded to our servers.
- Collection Data: Your card collection, scan history, and preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to them.
- Price Requests: When the App shows card prices, it requests price data from our server using card and product identifiers only. These requests do not include your name or any account information.
- Anonymous Scan Feed: The App can share which card was scanned (the card’s identifier and its game — nothing else) to power the community “Recently scanned” feed. This is anonymous: no account, name, or user identifier is attached. You can turn this off in the App’s settings.
- Purchase Information: If you subscribe to Slab Pro, purchase processing is handled by Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat) using an anonymous app identifier. We never see your payment details.
- Technical Data: Like most internet services, our servers temporarily process IP addresses for security and rate limiting. We do not use them to identify or track you.
- Advertising Attribution: To measure whether our own advertising works, we use Tenjin, a mobile measurement service. Attribution relies on Apple’s privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork framework: we do not access your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), do not show you ads inside the App, and do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
We do not collect your location, contacts, or photo library, and the App contains no third-party ads.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party services to provide app functionality. These services have their own privacy policies:
- RevenueCat (subscription management)
- Apple (App Store payments)
- Railway (server hosting for price data and the anonymous scan feed)
- Tenjin (advertising measurement via Apple’s SKAdNetwork)
If you choose a display currency other than US Dollars, the App fetches current exchange rates from a public exchange-rate service. That request contains no personal data.
How We Use Your Information
- To deliver card prices, price history, and trending data to the App.
- To power the anonymous community scan feed, if you leave it enabled.
- To process and maintain your Slab Pro subscription.
- To improve app performance and troubleshoot issues.
We do not sell your personal data.
Your Rights & Data Controls
You have certain rights regarding your personal data. Depending on your jurisdiction, these may include:
- The right to access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- The right to rectification: You can ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- The right to erasure (data deletion): You can request that we delete your personal data. You can also delete all locally stored data at any time using “Delete My Data” in the App’s Profile tab.
- The right to restrict processing: You can ask us to limit how we use your data.
- The right to data portability: You can request your data in a machine-readable format.
- The right to object to processing: You can object to us processing your data for certain purposes.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@lunarapps.io. We will respond to your request in accordance with applicable laws.
Children’s Privacy
Slab is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
Security of Your Information
We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect your data. However, no online service can be 100% secure. You are responsible for securing your device.
Data Retention
We retain data only as long as necessary to provide our services. Your collection and preferences live on your device and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the App. Anonymous scan-feed entries are aggregate counts and recent-scan entries that contain no personal information.
Our Legal Basis for Processing Information
If you are a user in the European Economic Area (EEA), we rely on the following legal bases to process your information:
- Consent: We may process your information if you have given us consent to do so for a specific purpose, such as sharing scans to the community feed.
- Contractual Necessity: We process your information to provide the services you have requested, such as delivering card prices to the App.
- Legitimate Interests: We may process your information for our legitimate interests, such as service improvement and abuse prevention, provided these interests do not override your fundamental rights and freedoms.
Data Storage and International Transfers
Our servers are located in the United States. If you are accessing Slab from outside the United States, price requests and anonymous scan-feed data will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using our app, you consent to this transfer.
Governing Law
This Privacy Policy and your use of Slab are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and the United States of America, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
Business Transfers
If Lunar Apps LLC is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to new ownership, subject to this Privacy Policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. If changes are significant, we will notify you in the app.
